We have a packet of information for your reference and orientation. It contains general information about the program, expectations, and policies. You can find a listing of community resources in the community group room that may be useful to you. We welcome you and hope you find the support and encouragement you need here.

We want to support you as a whole person; physically, intellectually, spiritually, and emotionally. Let us know how we can help you make connections for help in any of these areas.

At The Bridge, we strive to live as a community that supports and encourages one another. To that end, everyone helps with daily cleaning, sharing a family-style evening meal together, using encouraging words, and respecting each other. God's grace abounds in this homey atmosphere as we honor and truthfully acknowledge interpersonal conflict and our own personal needs and wants. Scriptures tells us that we are to help one another through these times; "If one falls down his friend can help him up." Ecclesiastes 4:10a.

We hope that you feel comfortable in a warm, supportive living environment. The Bridge is a safe place with locked doors at all times. The Bridge has rules in order to develop stability and boundaries because many people share the same living space. As a home, we want you to be comfortable and safe both physically and emotionally.

We know that everyone approaches issues differently and would appreciate knowing what you think and feel. Sometimes in life, because of past experiences, we might see a negative where a positive was intended. Please address these kinds of issues with us. We are here to support you and help you to find workable alternatives to methods that have failed to be productive for you in the past.

Each week we will gather at our House Meeting to discuss community living. We will support and challenge each other to meet our personal life goals. You may be asked to be a Leader once you are comfortable and knowledgeable of house rules and expectations. This position of leadership and responsibility assigns weekly chores and checks for chore completion. She will be a liaison to staff. The Leader role will rotate bi-monthly or monthly. We want you to be a competent, reliable woman and with opportunities will be a positive influence and leader in your environment.

We look forward to meeting with you on a weekly basis for individual Self-Sufficiency Sessions. If you would like to meet more than once a week, please request this in person. These meetings are meant to develop a written goal sheet and self-sufficiency plan for your life. We will explore multiple areas, including budgeting, employment, relationships, personal goals, fears and hopes for your future. We want your experience at The Bridge to be life transformative. The Lord knows you and your past; He desires for you to have renewed hope. Like the Psalmist who said, "I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God." Psalm 40:1-3a

All people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. We hope to help you discover who you are and want to be. We are here to provide guidance and a healthy atmosphere where you can safely live and discover yourself. We want to empower you to make good decisions and choices for yourself. Please never hesitate to ask us for help or to engage in a productive conversation to think through issues or circumstances.
